Laura Perlow has worked with many of Chicago’s leading arts and culture not for profit organizations for the past 25 years. Most recently as the Interim Director of Corporate Giving at the Field Museum, Laura managed corporate sponsorships, grants and strategic planning initiatives while collaborating with senior leadership to secure extensive funds to sponsor two 2019 exhibitions. She successfully led a $3 million development effort for four years as Managing Director of Development for the Chicago Humanities Festival. Laura cultivated major, individual and membership gifts, corporate and foundation grants and sponsorships while leading the Festival’s Board committee members through strategic opportunities resulting in new partnerships and increased philanthropic support.
Laura spent eight years in development at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, focusing on corporate sponsorship, foundation relations and major gifts. Leading a team of development professionals, Laura supervised grant writing, special event planning, prospect research and donor recognition efforts to successfully support Lyric’s fundraising goals. Before joining Lyric, Laura held development roles at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Hillels of Illinois and Shakespeare & Company in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Laura holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BFA in Theatre from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
